4A and 3A boys soccer district tournaments begin Thursday

Glacier Peak and Lake Stevens in 4A, Shorewood and Edmonds-Woodway in 3A are among the favorites.

The high school boys soccer district tournaments are now underway, with the Class 4A and Class 3A tournaments beginning Thursday night.

In the Class 4A District 1/2 tournament, fifth-seeded Lake Stevens (10-2-1) travels to face fourth-seeded Mount Si (11-3-0) on Thursday night for the right to face top-seeded Redmond (11-3-0) in the semifinals. Meanwhile on Saturday, second-seeded Glacier Peak (11-2-2) hosts third-seeded Issaquah (10-3-2) in the semifinals, while eighth-seeded Kamiak (7-5-3) hosts ninth-seeded Woodinville (6-6-1) and 10th-seeded Jackson (4-10-2) travels to face seventh-seeded Skyline (8-6-1) in loser-out games. Five teams advance to state.

The Class 3A District 1 tournament begins with four loser-out games Thursday: No. 5 Shorecrest (8-4-4) hosts No. 12 Ferndale (6-9-1), with the winner advancing to face No. 4 Cascade (10-4-2) in the quarterfinals; No. 6 Arlington (9-5-2) hosts No. 11 Meadowdale (4-8-1), with the winner facing No. 3 Mount Vernon (11-2-3); No. 7 Monroe (7-5-4) hosts No. 10 Everett (8-8-1), with the winner facing No. 2 Edmonds-Woodway (11-2-3); and No. 8 Lynnwood (7-6-3) hosts No. 9 Mountlake Terrace (6-6-4) for the right to face No. 1 Shorewood (14-1-1). The quarterfinals are on Saturday. Four teams advance to state.

The Class 2A District 1 tournament started Tuesday with loser-out games, and the quarterfinals are Thursday, where No. 4 Archbishop Murphy (10-3-2) hosts No. 5 Burlington-Edison (7-5-3) and No. 8 Cedarcrest (5-10-2) travels to face No. 1 Sehome (13-0-1). Two teams advance to state.

The Class 1A District 1/2 tournament also started Tuesday, with quarterfinal games being played Friday. Seventh-seeded Sultan (2-13-1) faces second-seeded University Prep (8-3-4). Three teams advance to state.
